The 74157 (Quad 2-to-1 Multiplexer) is a classic TTL logic IC that lets you select between two 4-bit data sources and route the chosen set to the outputs. It contains four independent 2:1 multiplexers controlled by a common Select (S) line, making it ideal for bus routing, data source selection, and signal switching in 5V digital systems.
